Default Jaguar XKR V8 supercharged soft top

Parked up next to one of these at Waitrose this morning.

Just looked so curvy and sexy smooth -

and that was from the back!

I think I may have gone off the idea of an MP4-12C ...

quite apart from forking out £150k versus around £50k for an XKR soft top

i hated the gearbox when i drove one, they also seem to be clinically detached with respect to driver feedback from the controls. Admittedly it was an fia gt3 race car, but i expected a bit more involvement!

Gearbox?

Shouldn't be an issue. Auto is the way for old drivers

Yes I know Graham - hole, burn, money, pocket.

Common sense says I should finish the house and have a garage first but ...

They are commendably light too - ally construction.

One of the few moderns I actually quite like.

Once they've plummeted a bit, they're definitely worth a look.

Yep Nick.

Already seeing low mileage 1-2 years old for ~£45k.

The XKR was designed and constructed as a convertible from get go.

So, it is only slightly heavier/slower (!) in rag top format.

Hmmm. Just need a little patience.

Dealer <10 miles away.

Nearer than Lotus

Same here, but I don't mind the drive to the Lotus dealer.

I dunno what's going on, but all of a sudden I quite like British cars!
