Default Landcruisers

We're looking at Landcruisers around the 6-8k mark - does anybody know much about them?

i.e. facelifts, problems, engine changes etc.

Most of them seem to be either lower mileage (70-80k) 1997-1999, or slightly higher mileage 1999-2001 cars.

Thanks!

You'll need to remortgage the house to fill the tank!

Landcruisers are positively green in comparison to Impreza STI

Jo, have a look at the import market as well. Not much to say about them, decent on the road, really good off it and pretty invincible as well.

Made by Toyota. Happy to help

Why do you need something that big ? Won't a shogun be cheaper although it has a pikey image.

Jo, they are very very big indeed and as a result you will get poor mpg.

Is there any difference between the import and the UK car?

It's Chris looking - he likes them, they have a good rep for being bombproof, they'll tow easy peasy, go rallying with us when the scoob stops going, looks like a tonka toy for him, and have a reasonable number of toys if you get the right one.

Looking probably for a diesel auto (although the way diesel prices are going standard unleaded might be cheaper!), and assuming low 20mpg?

I'd say less than 20mpg in reality, I knew someone who had the diesel variant and he never got over 20mpg, even on a good run!
