Yes...definitely...doing the math on buying a vanilla 180 month one and keeping the S.

The power to 40mph, ride quality and room are nice. Running out of golden grahams after 100ish wasn't so good.

Worried I might change job to 100.01 mile commute and end up with a 20k depreciation mo-fo on my hands.

0 to 60 7 seconds top wack of 92, not bad but 100 mile range? before a leanghty recharge.

I've drove a Prius but never a full electric car, as I do low mileage I like the idea of it but the cost is too much for me.

I'd try to never sell it to someone. Try it......the acceleration is like nothing else ....it's funny. If nothing else try for a laugh.

I'm going to buy if the math of leaf+s is within a margin.

How often do we do a 0-60? The cost of FI is like 3yrs of a leaf.....

Edit: track users..apologies..no intention to offend!

You do know that an S2000 is a two seater sports car don't you?
And a Nissan Leaf... well, isn't.

Apart from that your comparison is spot on.

Except it's "maths", not "math". Other than that I'm sure you have a point. I will shortly be starting a thread called "Sherman tank v Ford Fiesta" as the two are almost as relevant.

Does it make sense?
Post up your maths.

£16k is a lot of anything

It said 12s 0-60 @ Nissan.co.uk

Most people would be well within a 100 mile round trip commute. Not to mention that for the 8 hours at work you could leave it on charge.

Electric motors are amazing things - mega efficient, produce maximum torque from zero revs, and incredibly small for the power they offer.

Batteries are the weak link.

I reckon my 'math' (and with a degree in it I probably would have noticed if the s was missing) to be:

S Petrol (commute only) 220
S depreciation, based on 1k per month, roughly 50 (as opposed to polished in garage)

Roughly 270

Leaf pm 120
Leaf battery pm 80
Leaf deposit (4k over 3yrs) 110
Additional insurance 30
No tax
70% top up every day 35ish

Roughly 375 (not the leaf with all the toys though)

I know there are probably safer buys but like most on this forum (I'm guessing) I like looking into the more interesting options.
