Default Leasing advice

The wife's car is currently a Toyota Avensis I lease through work.
£290/month
Unlimited mileage limit
Tax included
Discounted insurance
12 month period
1 x service included
Voucher for a tyre to cover a puncture

Price is currently under review and I think going up. And it has gone stratospheric in the last few year, from memory something like
2011 was £150
2012/13 was £175
2013/14 was £290

Looking alternates at the moment and don't know much about lease schemes outside of work so any advice welcome.
Car would have to be D-seg estate size/Rav4ish soft road roader.

Mileage has traditionally been 15,000ish per year but we're hopefully moving soon in a way that should take mileage off it (potentially putting it on mine though).

Any good or bad companies to recommend/avoid?
Any things to ask/look out for?
General advice?

Cheers guys

When I ran contract hire cars, Arval were never beaten on price.

The trick is to choose a model with no extras, i.e. choose a standard specification that has all you need, as the cost of options plus finance is written down over the hire period and that really hikes up the monthly cost - which is usually quoted ex-VAT of course. And never get maintenance included as the same financial structuring applies.

Be flexible on colour and specification as there are often quite amazing deals that crop-up.

Useful as a reality check.
£265 for as close to an equivalent model as I can spec.
Guess that means going this route may not save huge amounts of cash but may save a few quid.

One of the other options may be a pcp on a 2 year old Toyota/Kia or similar with a long warranty. It at least keeps everything hassle free

Might be worth a look - they've got a lot of unwanted (usually German) tat for that sort of dough:

Stupid suggestion here but would it be better for you to get something older and used and just buy it? You are paying 3600 a yr so over 3 years you have nearly 12k. 5 or 6 will get you a big standard estate that if you choose well, will last you a lot longer than 3. 150 quid a month saving.

It is on the list of considerations but primarily must be reliable and trouble free motoring
Know how to do that though so not so much advice needed in those realms

Taking-on an existing lease or contract hire from someone who wants out but can't stomach the penalty payments means no down payment and sometimes a cash incentive. Here is one site offering such vehicles, but I guess there will be more:

I found / find that it's either very new to market or end of run models that attract the best deals. We got the CRV for £237 when the new model first came out (we have new model), but can't match that price now, seems around £275. I assume the manufacturers want to get some on the roads as the best form of advertising I guess.

Likewise, I was offered a new golf R on a 6+23 for £220 pcm (wish I was due to replace the CRV, as that deal has already gone).

As others have said, take it as it comes, options will cost, so take the model that has all you want / need. Our CRV is boggo, base spec, I don't need bigger wheels, roof rails, pan roof etc, with all that was nearer £400 a month and not a very attractive deal at all.

happy hunting. I'll be looking around in 6 months time to see what's about.

Yeah, I'd go for some sort of totally Spec Fuck-off JDM Legacy type thing for that sort of dough.

But not everyone CBA.
