I have emailed the text below to both Lexus Financial Services and the Glasgow Dealership.

------ Agreement Number 000000189xxx ----Invoice 000019xxx---------

Having returned the car last week to Manheim collections, I have now received an invoice for excess mileage and

That sucks

We must have been stung along similar lines at work before.

All leased cars now go to a bodyshop to be given a quick treatment before being returned.

Funny thing is, they put at the bottom of the "invoice", please return with your cheque attached to the above address. There IS no address. Anywhere. Just a phone number and email. Hey ho...

That is quite normal with those PCP things.

It does sound as if they're being particularly nitpicky. I personally never had it, but then I had the business-type & chopped in against a new model. Mine were VGC, but SOME patina is inevitable.

Sounds like you've had a real bad experience with Lexus.

It just mentions returning the car in acceptable condition. Problem there is, on both sides of the argument, what is acceptable?

Nick, the experience I had with Lexus was terrible from start to finish. I mentioned it to a few other islanders who have Lexus models and they've all said the same thing, "Don't deal with Glasgow, go to Edinburgh". That's all very well, but it was out of my way.

I would have P/Xd the car against the two Suzukis I bought before Christmas, but the deal would have meant I'd still have had to find

If Lexus finance are part of the BVRA, there is a booklet which is available which states descriptions as to what constitutes fair and reasonable wear and tear.

Worth having a look at.

The contract hire companies are very variable - even if BVRA members. From my experience Custom Fleet in the North West are superb, Arval always try it on.

Whatever the contract says, it will still surely come down to a test of reasonableness

I would like to hear how someone defends no stone chips and dings in 42K miles as such
