Are you speaking from experience or from what you know of?

The 1.9 TDI's that I've been looking at have all been 105hp not 130hp so which particular models should I look at for the 130 engine? My mate who's a mechanic had a PD140 GTTDI for 3 years with no problems at all and he seems to think they're a pretty good investment, hence my first question.

The 530d is a mid 2007 facelift model with the sport auto box. My mum regularly gets 46mpg out of it but I don't because of the roads I drive, as already said. I know an auto is never as economical as a manual but the difference isn't huge.

As AJ said as well FWD is better in bad weather and the whole idea of having another car is to drive it throughout the winter so the S doesn't get wrecked and also to commute.

From experience bud
the 2.0TDi 140 made between 05 and 07 are the ones to watch out. Run a google search on "audi a4 oil pump"

the 105 bhp are decent but made purely for economy and seem a little gutless to me. So I stick to 130s - best in 6 speed manual boxes.

s2kroids, I recently had the Fabia VRS - couldn't believe how terrible it is, so I stay well away. Was thinking of looking into a skoda superb though, they look quite nice, just hope they're built as well as the passat

you mean the 2007 LCi 530d Auto?

supposed to be an amazing motor. Never had one because they are so pricey at the moment.

Yep that one

...with the swirl flaps removed obviously! We bought it with 24k on the clock and 3 years later its got 98k on it and its rock solid. It's a real shame that for what I need it's too thirsty as I love driving it!

best derv in my view is the jaguar x type very reliable, nice badge, lovely interior all the goodies and very cheap for the money. i have had a few.
i added a tuning box to mine and made a big difference with no problems. i think they look lie a classy little car and a bit different .

if you are looing for a 2007 and newer and spending good money i would go for 335d or nice newish clk mmmm

DO NOT BUY ALFA GT i just got rid before i bought the s2000 few weeks ago . loads of electric problems loads of silly warnings that come up radomly. feels a bit cheaply made . bad suspension creaks and squeeks on most from bushes that go quickly ect. stunning car with a nice engine but felt like i was waiting for it to break down.
it had fsh and was mint condition with only 56000 miles and was like that already. felt like the engine was not a strong engine aswell and would be put to the test if driven hard.
