hmm..

this opportunity would mean a 130 mile round trip commute..but it's a corking job and we're not interested in moving, plus it's actually a good drive for a lot of it..

so i'm talking 30k miles per annum

in a diesel i might expect 50mpg so 13 gallons/wk @

So break even cf diesel less than 2 years - not bad. Even less cf petrol.

What's the commute?

I once did 125 each way (St Albans - Telford) M1-M6-M54.
AND working under EDS - all round ball buster

A few options on that route.

M1 will depend on time of day, typically.

Good luck

edit: Subaru's Forester LPG conversion is quite a neat job.
The tank replaces a full size spare wheel under the floor of the boot.
So apart from some extra pipes under the bonnet there is nothing to show.

Now you've got me interested

I have recently converted a V8 landrover to run on LPG. For a good look at the sort of options that are out there, try this website:

http://www.tinleytech.co.uk

The basic decisions to be made are:

Where to put the tank (underbody/boot/spare wheel well)?
Induction or injection?
Open Loop or Closed Loop?
Self install or professional install?

The answers to each of these questions will be specific to your vehicle and to your needs, but the information on the website should help.

I installed one of their kits myself, with minimum bother. The decision was based on the age and use of the vehicle, plus the fact that my insurer does not require a certificate on the installation...

Should you have any questions, please send me a PM!

...and yes, 60L of LPG for
