Nice report and I was very close to buying an E46 M3 but the running costs really scared me - especially on the 120k mile car I was offered

So now it's a 120d, how come such a U-turn?

M3 was one car fits all...

120d is part of a potential 2 car scenario. Hopefully involving a dry sumped flat 6. But that won't be for a while yet.

In the meantime track cars will be hired. I'm hiring an R26.R in august at the ring.

I'm so glad I didn't in the end...

Is this box mated to the N54 the same as your old M3 then?
As I find its pretty good once warm, and still better than every fwd car out there.
