Megane R26.R
I think he means...
...that when in the S (or pretty much any RWD drive car for that matter) when you are cornering, and press the accelerator, the cornering line tightens - the extreme case here is oversteer). In a FWD drive car, you generally experience more understeer when you puch the accelerator whilst cornering. The opposite is the case in the Reno.

One of the group I was at The Ring with at Easter had an R26R (although he'd left it at home and was just a passenger). He said it was great, but was always going wrong, and cost a fortune in petrol and front tyres.
He wanted to bring it, but was scared by just how much the trip would cost him.

I am sure you can get good ones but they will fall to bits after a very short time. With the kind of abuse I'd give it probably in minutes.
That said if money permits I'd really like to do a Clio Cup season....
Well I was driving a 197 RenaultSport Clio Cup as well, and the R26.R makes the Clio look like a Mercedes Barge.
but as I drove the clio before, I found the clio great fun. But I'd not want to drive it now.

I just searched on R26, and what a stroke of luck.
Reason being after trying to justify to ourselves a good DC5 on say an 03 plate is going to cost well over 10k.
After playing with Marks R26R at kevil I thought I'd take a look at the used R26 prices.
Astonishing actually...a mint 08 very low miles can be had for 13k still under waranty.
Now, the R26R is a R26 stripped out to save some 125Kg, otherwise is the same chassis and drivetrain exactly.
I have no use for another two seater, but we could use a hatchback more than a saloon.
Kind of why I dropped the M3 idea recently.
This is also a gp17 car. And easily chipped to 260.
As for fuel consumption as above, this I dont get. It's booked better than the S2000 at 33mpg compbined?
My S2K is averaging 28mpg. The drive to keevil, track 'n' back gave 22.
Yup, sounds like I have already convinced myself.
Oh, and the wife loves hot hatches so is dead keen.
Like the speed limiter/cruise idea, never seen that but always wanted it.
Brembos, LSD, variable oversteer dial, Traction control yada yada. Nice pack.
Need one in Liquid Yellow, Xenons, Lux pack please

Chassis and drive train are the same. But the lighter weight, masses of carbon and poly. And then you get to the most important bit: they've really messed with the suspension, and it's the suspension that's the most important bit. That and the tyres.
