i honestly dont understand how people can drive with such little consideration for those around them.
there really has to be a complete breakdown between the eyes and the brain for some of these things to happen

on the road i dont get annoyed, it just bothers me about the state of humankind that such cannonfodder intellectually challenged misfits are allowed to survive.

the genepool of this planet is going to the dogs.

advances in medicine and the lack of bloody wars with millions of casualties mean that people are now surviving that really shouldnt
and worse still they are having kids.

and what do we do?
put them on reality tv.
you've kind of answered it yourself.

Driving just amplifies people's stupidity and selfishness.

You meet selfish people everyday.

Like the twat yesterday who decided to go to the till in the co-op, put his items through and continue shopping.

Or my next door neighbour who didn't remove his broken tiles out of our front garden on Friday because "the building company said to leave them there"

Or the selfish bell in the gym who doesn't think to shift his 3ft long bag and shoes off the bench in the changing rooms so people can sit down.

But then again most unselfish acts largely go unnoticed don't they.

Perhaps that's what they've got already - matching magnets will repel after all

Harsh,

Is it the Toyota or another that has the DID (& not the D4D) engine? That cracks me up!

Moggy,

I think you'll find that mr. Ian Secure at the gym is probably trying to demonstrate how tough he is. If he's got two of his mates, they and their bags can occupy an entire sports hall bar between them!

Or the brainless slit in the Audi A4 Cabriolet who parked on a blind entrance & then proceeded to u-turn, causing traffic chaos in two directions.

Sometimes it is empty-headedness, but it often looks too deliberate and is swagger.

Personally I think it comes down to a lack of visible Police presence on the roads. People know that there are very few traffic cops out there nowadays and drive like selfish pricks because they know they can get away with it.

If you don't think that's the case, watch how people drive the next time you see a marked police car driving on the motorway. Everyone slows down to sensible speeds and lane discipline improves 100 %. It's not that they don't know how to drive, it's just that they can't be arsed.

I think I mentioned it in another thread recently, but it's the chance of getting caught that deters people from doing something, not the sentence. There are some quite high penalties for driving like a cock, but if there's no chance of you being caught you can drive how the feck you want.

I got 3 points on the M4 for speeding, did it make me stop? Nope.

Just made me look for unmarked cars harder. When there where silver Omegas going slow, I'd slow too ..

People drive like selfish pricks because that's what they are.

Being in a car amplifies the worst aspects of our personalities as we feel safe in our tin castles. Normally mild mannered folk turn into monsters.

See some of Bada's tales where he gets out of his cars to confront to$$ers and how sheepish they become once confronted.

The problem is interpretation - to you it means "excuse me mate, could you move over please", to him it means "get out of my fooking way" - hence the aggression.

Probably better just to move to lane 3 and then back to lane 1 and hope he gets the message (in my experience they rarely do, being totally unaware that they are doing any wrong).

The problem is that he is a clueless tw@! I normaly do as you suggest or undertake, but I let my self-righteousness get the better of me on this occasion.

The one that invariably works on Mercs is to sell them a pup - move left as if about to undertake, then go right as soon as they begin to move left. Which they invariably do.
