Thanks Jamie - Im glad they didnt sell it in th UK. It keeps the numbers down and im sure we would have gotten a crap spec LD

Dembo, each to their own. Not everything in life is S2000...

CB, cheers! On the car swapping front, a number of car I have bought recently I have broken even. The DC2 I actually made a bit on The exception was the S2000 which was the biggest loss ever. Again, mods can be sold off and I got what I paid for the Mugen bits pretty much.

I do change quite a bit, I just love trying different things. It does meant that I have to buy wisely in terms of price and condition.

Its great to appreciate FWD / AWD and RWD in their finest forms. I can look back when im sat in my chair and think that I have owned Japanese's finest! Not a grand aspiration, but I jut have a thinkg for the Japanese performance car ethos. Im sure one day I will be in Aston territory as long as the BP pension fund stays where it is

Nick, thanks

I have just been on a bit of a test drive and it really is quick. The most impressive thing is the torque and throtle response. It pulls extremely well, even down at 3000.

I got that big VTEC grin back again. Must have changed gear about 100 times in 20 minutes

LOL Billy

I bought this as a cheaper option to do some track days and just have a bit of fun. I plan not to spend very much on it mods wise, just basic track stuff. I'd have liked an S2000 but id set a budget and dont think I could have found a decent one - and I aslo have some reservations around reliability. Final thing is that I would have definately ended up spending a lot on it again. With this I have no desire to do any external mods at all!

My list of normal type Jap stuff is near complete in terms of things to own.

NSX has to be had, as does an R34 GTR but they are over a year off, or a few years working ex-pat in Azerbaijan

Fair point mate. I do know the Jap Civic Type R is considered a much better bit of kit than what we have to put up with

And there is a rarity of it

[QUOTE]I hope you don't mind one negative opinion in amongst all the praise, but I really don't understand the appeal. They must be really great to drive as I can't think of a single other reason why anybody would want one. Honda really have perfected the art of blandness with this car.

Sorry. Just my opinion.

Looks good mate. I'm really having scary thoughts about buying one too. We're going to view a beach side apartment today, and if we get it I might just sell the Elise and buy a white DC5 to ensure we have enough cash to enjoy the lifestyle it'll bring.

Any chance of some video clips?

You're clearly spending far too long on the US side of the board!

Andy, I share the same view

I hardly think it can be called bland when compared to the CTR or the recent generations. Its been stripped of weight, limit slip diff added, brembo's extremely light flywheel and the list goes on...

BB, I will get some video this weekend!

It has a lot more torque than the S and weighs less, so im enjoying that quite a lot. It takes some getting used to coming from AWD / RWD as a warning though.

I have discovered you have to wait a bit longer to get the power on when exiting a bend.

Understeer really isnt that much of an issue on these - by FWD standards is brilliant
