Default new car

...no, not for me. S2000 already costing enough. curiousity has got the better of me

im wondering if theres ANY other car in exsistance that has similar perks to the S, but thats quicker?

perks of the S (for me anyway)
- daily use
- pretty unique; not many around
- good MPG
- isnt a rep-mobile

ST's, VXR's are hardly unique. audi's S-series are kinda rep-mobile.

i really cant think of one at all.. pleanty of faster, but none that youcan use for daily drive, and returns ok mpg.

Used as a daily commuter (55 mile round trip) for 8 months - only office relocation to central London stopped this), absolutely no prob's.

Quicker than the S2000.

MPG not that disimilar

Insurance (for me at least) is significantly cheaper (

Used most days

typical trip 40 miles - max 400 miles

after my initial issues fixed under warranty, it has been trouble free in the last twelve months

considerably quicker than an S2000

18/19 mpg

rare - only 2500 rhd built to 2003 - far less left now - when did you last see one?

insurance costs me less than the S2000

tax is

nsx, eh? very nice cars, but with a 3.2 v6 pushing it along, i'd of expected mid 10's in the mpg.

same with a bimma - was expecting very low mpg.

like i say, insurance probably wouldnt like me driving those, and raising the money for the car in the first place would be a challenge. just curious to what else is out there

No, not at all.

On my mixed commute - B roads, fast A roads (where I think it would be possible to exceed 100 on a daily basis) and a 3 - 4 mile urban crawl, the car averaged 28mpg.

Cruising along at motorway speeds, it returns well over 30mpg.

C55 AMG based on the W203, very rare beast indeed! Was considered the sportiest C Class ever before the recent release of the C63 AMG. The handbuilt 5.4 V8 engine is as solid and reliable as they come. Unique look too as they had to fit the extended CLK AMG front bumper, bonnet and wider track to the car so they could squeeze in the huge lump under the bonnet!

Stunningly fast and awhole lot faster then an S
Alot more luxurious/kit and refined then an S
Alot more practical then an S being a 4 door, 5 seats, decent boot!
Alot more rarer then an S
23mpg on the combined cycle
SpeedShift Auto with paddle shift making for relaxed driving (perfect for daily use in stop start traffic especially!), but also for fast driving if the mood takes/allows
Servicing surprisingly cheap for such a high performance car, circa
