Wanted something more extreme and more track friendly than the beemer. Also wanted to keep about 50% of the capital that I got back from selling the beemer.
Looked at a few Westfields - the most expensive being a bit outside of my budget at

Nice car, but that steering wheel looks awful!
And that bell housing might turn into a liability.
What's the ballpark headline figures for it, acceleration and what not. I know it's not a dragster, just adding another car into the mix for when I change.
I did think ooh, he's gone for the V8 when I saw the bonnet. But the 2.0 is the way forward for a track toy. Those V8's are pretty heavy in such a light car.

It's a Sparco removeable jobbie, works for me.Bell housing should be ok. Most speed bumps are ok (not that I aim to cover a lot of them) and just means I have to go dead slow. On the road it won't touch the ground as there is a bar (part of the chassis) just behind it which is lower which would hit the ground first. Also I'll be getting the ride heigh adjusted up a bit when I get some firmer springs put in the back.
Current figures? not really sure. Not had it weighed, but its about 150-160hp and under 600kg. Plans are to get that up to 200-210hp and the weight down a little if possible. They're meant to be sub 5 seconds to 60, but until I've had the engine looked at I won't know if I'm producing that kind of power. For the time being I'm happy with the sound

The V8 isn't so bad as it's aluminium block and pretty light. The extra power obtainable outweighs the decrease in performance, but I guess the standard mounting would mean that that bit of extra weight would be fairly high up..

Very nice indeed, not too keen on the bonnet but they look much better in the flesh. Caterfields are the way forward
Itching to pick up my mine up now, hopefully it'll be this week.
What do you wear glasses/goggles wise when on the road? I've got no windscreen either
