It actually looks alright in the TG mag.

Wew can only judge I guess when we see one in the flesh?

Another botched Mondeo, only this time they haven't bothered to change the bodywork...
It's still DEW98-based, like the old model: a reskinned Lincoln LS.

Hideous in reality. Although the rear looks good.

The concept looked really promising.

Oh, and regarding the Mondeo similarities:

(Looks better IMO)

Apart from a few fashion-related items, the design language is in fact totally different.

Big improvement on the present retro designs.

I agree; we were all excited by the prospect of the new MkII; until we saw it as the S-Type, that is.

It was launched alongside the Rover 75 and I couldn't help feeling how much classier the Rover actually was, inside & out.

But the brand was already ruined, before Pischetsrieder launched his torpedoes...

Both the S-Type and the X-Type in particular managed to ruin any class Jaguar had left, the XJ didn't really change and while the XK was good, both the last and the new one they didn't really stand out as being spectacular in trim, drive or looks.

Little more work required but I still think this is a step forward.

There is a certain 'wow' factor (that the old cars had) missing.

I wonder that now Aston has been jettisoned, it might suddenly return? I may be cynical, but it's one reason I hate all this 'brand' shit.

Having been a subaru owner, you are not allowed to speak on the subject of good cars that look crappy
