A new toy?
Hola,
After my last S I have bought myself a nice E90 325I M Sport which I absolutely love.
So I am now after a bit of track fun / weekend blasts.
I was thinking of another (older) S or keep our other car (an Astra) and buy a track car like an Integra Type R etc.
However I have seen this and am seriously tempted

My Brother has an S1 which I have driven a few times, I know I couldn't live with it even as an infrequent use car (it may be used for the odd commute).
What do You think of the S2's??
Or any other ideas for a bit of track / weekend fun?
Cheers

The S2 is no comparison to the S1 when it comes to build quality, even more so the later S2s.
I'm coming up to 2 years ownership of mine and it's my daily drive. I won't kid you that it's luxury, but once inside it's actually far more comfortable that you might expect.
It also had plenty of storage for a weekend away. ok, it won't take a suitcase but you'll be amazed how much soft luggage the boot can handle. However note that golf clubs are strictly passenger seat (added bonus - no passengers!) and the boot does tend to cook your shopping if you take the long way home.
I've never driven a K series, so can't comment on the engine. I will say that the Toyota engine in the 111r is very similar in character to the F20C, so it may be worth spending a few more pennies if you have fond memories of the S2000.
Now the important stuff.... around the track it's amazing fun. I had got to a point in the S2000 thought I had reached the limit of my confidence in a car. The Elise showed me different and just encourages you more and more. It's cornering ability - for a road car - is incredible. Again on the roads, it will leave you with nothing but smiles.
But the final and best bit of advice... Go test drive one.
Only then will you know if it's your cup of tea or whether you need to really opt for that Peugeot CC that will have more room for all those beauty products!
