They could start by dusting off the S2000 presses and putting a decent engine in it - but an NSX based on the accord platform and with hybrid technology - have to hope it won't end being an NR-Zzzzzzzz ;-)

It's a lot better than nothing. This talk of using an Accord plank is a bit retarded; there's in fact very little carry-over between a 128 & X1/9 or a Metrocity & MGF, or a Levin*/MR2 for example.

Everyone seems to have hybriditis due to Oh Bummer's new CAFE regulations and it's not going away. Yet.

The idea of an NSX lite so the plebs can afford one isn't a bad one.

Clearly - they mean architecture (or less pretentiously plank) and not platform. You cannot simply build a mid-engined car out of the floorpan & running gear of a FF saloon. Hence why there'd be only really the powertrain & a few suspension elements carried over in fact.

Plus a lot of borrowed IPR re the FREDs; there's a lot of value in that and very little in pressings.

Perhaps a good example might be the Lancia Montecarlo, which was part of the FIAT 137/Lancia β programme.

They should update the caterham platform and use that

With a v10

I think the cars have stumbled of late, maybe its a period of concentration on making a new low emissions <somert> they seemed to bang out gems at will in the 90s the ITR, ATRs, CTRs, S2000 all on the heels of the NSX

The bikes are still good though!
