Default one dream fulfilled...

I've finally got my own s2000 (which i had dreamed about for the last 9 years - since i was 16)

I was watching an old film the other night and i just remembered another vehicle / car / jeep that i had always wanted since i was about 8... however i do not even know where to begin looking

anyone know what they are called... apart from the obvious...

thanks in advance

That Jeep is in fantastic (restored) condition.
Note the stowed whip radio aerial - who remembers them as a fashion accessory back in the 1970's, when no Ford Cortina was seen without one.
Not sure the black footstep is original though, but I admit to not being a expert.
Many such jeeps also had an anti-decapitation girder fixed vertically to the front bumper to foil those pesky Nazis who had a irritating habit of stringing wire across the known paths of enemy convoys.

they were using them to transport people around the car parks at the 2006 Goodwood Revival

I remember being very surprised at how good the ride was (across a typical field)

great fun and much more macho than a beach buggy

I think they are really cool, keep the S2000 for day to day driving during the week and the Willy Jeep for the weekends, how many people in the world do that (usually the other way around)

Willys, pronounced 'Willis', rather that 'Willies'. A Willy Jeep sounds interesting though.
