Default Parking Fine

About 12 weeks ago I got a letter through work to say that I had an outstanding parking fine from parking outside my appartment without a permit on display. The enforcement company had reffered it to a collections company.

I duly ignored it - having not received a fine.

a couple of weeks later came the first of three "Pay immediately or we'll take you to court and you'll get a CCJ"

The first of these I replied to saying I hadn't had a fine, nor can I think of a reason why I might have done.

Then the second and third came.

The third I responded to saying I had already replied, and had no intention of paying a fine there was no evidence of, for a contravention of rules there was no evidence of.

The reason for this post - I've just had a sternly worded email from "collections"

======================================
"FAO Mr. xxxx xxxx
Find attached time stamped photographs of your vehicle with parking fine notice and registration number"

Call ***** ****** immediately to make payment
======================================

I HAD to smirk when I opened the pictures to see a different car, on a different date, with no parking fine notice.

My simply worded reply

"This is not my car.

Rgds."

I await there next contact.

I'm tempted to invoice them for my time spent responding.

Oh I would - grossly inlated. And issue a summons after your 7-day warning letter if they fail to pay.

They don't like it up 'em, Mr. Mainwaring.

Imagine having the front to turn up at court.
" so Sir - why are you here?"
"Because I was asked to attend your honour.".
"You haven't paid your fine and it has caused XXXX financial loss."
"The car in question is not my vehicle your honour and this has caused me financial loss and stress".

Gord bless 'em

So in other words, they've just sent you a picture of a car?

Oh please let it go to court then claim for damages if your credit rating is affected as a result.

You know, somebody actually complimented me on my driving today.

They left a little note on the windscreen, it said 'Parking Fine.' So that was nice.

Sorry keith, but someone had to do it

The really bad news is that I have another 1000 of 'em, some git bought me "The biggest ever Tim Vine Joke book"

I went to the petrol station and there was nothing coming out of the nozzle. I walked in and I said, have you got your pumps on? He said no, I'm wearing flip-flops.

Hey keith, we're now down to 999 now yaaay!
