Default Petition for Fifth Gear

As the title says I've started an online petition for the attention of Channel 5's Fifth Gear team.

Click for petition

If you too feel that this show is woefully bad please sign the petition and leave feedback.

Please feel free to post this on other motoring forum.

Cheers.

Shouldn't the petition be FTAO Channel 5, asking them to bin it?

Its too far gone, nothing will save it now. Reversing cars around a track for a test was the nail in the coffin. The only thing channel 5 can do is make a totally new car show with different people.

I agree that ultimately if you don't like something then you simply switch it off.

That has its own problems as in the end that show will be pulled and then we are only left with TG.

Obviously I want to see more motoring shows on tv, not less, and with a little tweaking I feel that Fifth Gear could be a half decent show with reasonable appeal.

For example take the piece they did with Freddie Flintoff on the last show. The only thing I learned from that piece was that the Porsche Cayman has traction control that you can switch off. With a bit more thought they could have had a half decent review of the Cayman whilst including some basic tecniques for circuit driving like how to apex a corner etc. They mentioned oversteer in a RWD car, but yet again they missed the oportunity to go over some simple techniques, how to provoke the car, what to do if you find yourself in an oversteer situation etc.

As it was we were presented with 10 minutes of Vicki gurning like a spastic on acid Henderson flirting with Freddie.

I think the problem with FG is it's toned down for your average idiot, like most TV programs these days. They need to appeal to morons, which means more superlatives and less actual information.

I haven't watch it for a while because I know it's shite.
