Default Racing pick ups in the S

Slightly illegal but good fun day today.
Driving back from st Albans to Hatfield on a dual carriageway today,
pretty happy toodling along in the traffic and became aware of a huge red blob of a pick up in the rear view mirror he was getting very close ?
I didnt get angry, it seemed like a great time to cog the S down into 3rd floor it and watch him disapear like all the other cars do. Floored it in every gear red lining to 8.5k looking at 115 ish, and he was on my tail trying to pass
What the F...K kind of pick up is this ? Big red ugly american thing ?
This carried on a couple of times untill we approached the Hatfield junction where i pulled into the left lane and he drew up level, smiled out the cab and waved, like it had been good fun for him too.
Then i noticed a sticker on the back, (Race tuned 510hp)
Has anybody seen a truck like this before ? its a monster.
Sorry cant give any more vehicle details, dont really pay much attention to american metal.

Ford F150 Lightning.

It's got a tuned V8, breathed on by Ford's Special Vehicles Team.

The Dodge offering is similar in terms of performance, although from memory it has the V10 taken from the Viper.

They have tons of power but show it a corner and it would probably roll onto it's roof and wave a white flag. Anyone can make a car/truck go fast by giving it lots of power. It's getting it right in the corners that's the difficult bit.

You tried to race a Ram SRT-10?!?

You poor chap...I thought everyone knew the Ram only came in 2 flavours:- Big V8 and stupidly-big V10! Even the V8 has enough cojones to see off hot-hatches and similar!

Saw a silver one near M42 J4 a little over a week ago...twas a 'how cool' moment...it may not be able to corner well, but WGAF when you've a Viper engine up-front?!?

I saw one in Germany once. It was pretty old looking, but had been widened at the back to have four wheels at the rear. Sounded dog rough and was billowing black smoke.

I followed him out of a town and onto an open road up a steepish hill with an overtaking lane. I moved over to overtake and he promptly left me for toast.

Quite impressive really. I wish I'd taken a picture.
