Default Registration cloning & HPI

In both senses of the word.

Does anyone know whether HPI is affected if your reg is cloned and then stuck on a stolen vehicle ?

Had a letter through the door today from the Met asking me to phone them to let them know if my "plates had been stolen, or vehicle take". As the plate was "used on a similar car that was stolen".

Spoke to them briefly this evening but all they would tell me the stolen car had been "used" and left it at that. Presumably for some nefarious activity.

Got to give a statement next week But I was wondering if it would show up on an HPI or similar as that mnight explain the lack of followup from several apparently interested buyers.

I wouldn't bother buying a lottery ticket Graham.

Worth doing your own HPI?

Anyway, I probably will do my own HPI next week if I can't get a definitive answer from here or the polis.

Glad to see you working on your Scots language. Maybe you'll fit in after all.

Oh and ask for a paternity test to prove it.

Statement over the phone, everything was fine.

Got a couple of parking tickets for the other car, but sent them back with explanation and copy of tax disc IIRC, no probs

Yeah but you haven't been trying to sell yours, so would never have come across any HPI repercussions.

I can't see how it would affect the HPI

The top level check (ie just the plate) might flag it up as nicked, is what I'm getting at.
