Default renault turbo 2

hi guys, thought i would start a small thread of my dads renault 5 turbo 2.my dad bought the car about 5 years ago from john price rallying(renault turbo 1-2 specialist)the car already had a renault sport 220cv kit installed.but felt more like 160bhp(thats compareing it to a modded r5 gt turbo)so he was a little dissapointed,so the quest for more bhp was on the table.first off was to ditch the mfi,and run efi with a standalone ecu(adaptronic) along with a load of other parts like custom inlet manifold, cutom fuel rail, volvo b18ft throttle body.the mapping and wireing was taken care of buy chris (aka scoff) who runs www.efi-parts.co.uk who is very knowledgeble when it comes to renaults/elecrtrics/mapping

the engine was fully rebuilt by john price to maxi spec and a genuine tour de course gearbox with lsd was purchased aswell

heres a breif spec:

1565 cc engine : maxi cam,
77mm bore, Forged pistons and steel liners, new crankshaft, sodium filled valves etc etc TDC oil cooler with remote filter,

PWR Charge cooler.(Fr mounted rad)
EARL Water injection with MF2 controller.
T3 Turbo
TDC manifold
Zorstec Custom exhaust
Screamer pipe
External wastegate (Turbosmart)
TDC oil cooler with oil filter relocatation
Aeromotive A1000 fuel pump
Aeromotive Fuel rail
Aeromotive Fuel filers with Aeromotive billet brackets....
Fusion fabrications inlet
Fusion fabrications plenum
Cosworth Bosch dark geen injectors
HKS Filter
EFI, Adaptronic ecu. Mapped by Scoff (RTOC)
t3/t4 hybrid turbo

TDC close-ratio Box, ZF lsd.AP twin plate clutch, rose jointed gear linkage

Compomotive Maxi wheels to be fitted 08 (7.5x15"ET2 Fr & 9.5 x 16" ET-45 Rear),toyo r888 alround

bilstein coil overs fr n rear

the shell has undergone loads of work to renault sport spec which includes:seam welding, braces, strengthening plates etc

Standard brakes
Hydraulic handbrake
Brake bias

Redline EGT (reads egt on 4 cyl) Spa gauges-Water-Boost- Charge temps, Inovate AFR, Spa shift light- Spa speedo, OMP Steering wheel, OMP gear knob, Sparco bucket seats, TDC engine cover. Fusion stainless water inj tank, brake bias adj,

theres probably a loads of bits i have missed(as its not my car i dont know everything that was fitted) but you get an idea of the spec.
the car drives so much different to how it used to,its sharp on the throttle and goes like a stabbed rat and it has so much traction on the twistys(not that it gets abused as he hardly drives it )
but honestly, out of all the cars in the house this is definatley the most FUN

a few pics

80s madness! Love it.

Was it actually rallied or was it one of the road cars?

Seems to have all the cut off switches etc. but nice carpet too

it was a road car,it has been converted to rhd aswell,as they were all lhd origanaly.this is one of the reasons my dad bought it,as he didnt want a left hand drive car.got to agree about the 80,s madness, some of those group b cars were mental.no wonder it got banned

Why are you carrying an engine around in the boot?

Rear engine hot hatches, the best idea the french ever had.
