Default 'Ring lap times

Does anyone have times achieved by members with stock S2Ks on the 'ring - wet & dry? I'm not out to set the heather on fire, but a yardstick would be useful. Thanks to the guys who responded to my question on hotels - got it sorted real quick.

I assume you haven't yet been over?

If that's the case, I don't think it's a good idea to be aiming for a time - even if it's only a yardstick. Go to the 'ring, enjoy yourself, go as fast as you feel comfortable, and then discuss when you get back and if it's important to you, compare times.

I'll not be telling mine though

Well, maybe you'll tell me afterwards! I think your advice is good. I will be there for a couple of days, and it would be interesting to see if I've been 'Driving Miss Daisy' after the first day. I'm going with my son, and will make sure he is not targetting any particular lap times!

It takes 100's of laps before you can really achieve good times at the Ring so if you're just going for the weekend, drop the hood, stick a lid on and enjoy the experience.

I think I went round in about 10mins. It's not blinding by any means, but I had damn good fun.

The time in my video comes out around 9:40 ish.

As has been said above, don't go trying to achieve a time, as you'll come a cropper.

Just go to have fun, and it'll still be worth it.

Watched your lap a couple of days ago and it looks (and sounds) great! Was it completely dry? Hard to tell from the clip.

I seem to remember there were damp patches in the trees at the back of the lap, but they were off the racing line. (Which can cause problems).

I was worried about people overtaking me before I went, but found going past other cars was more nerve racking.

I don't recall seeing bikes on your lap, which surprised me. From checking out the hotels, they sound like they are geared up for bikers. Probably hairier than the cars on the track.

There were lots of bikes, but didn't seem to be as many on the track as I expected.

And the ones that were on the track were taking it very cautious. (Don't blame them).

My best round saw a time of 7.4 minutes in a subaru wrx turbo 4 wheel drive and it was quite a ride
