Very sad story.

But I expect Mr Hunt is only saying it how he sees it.

I obviously don't know the road.

Perhaps you could tell us what it's really like.

Very sad story indeed, but you cant really have a go at Mr Hunt, who was probably still in shock over what had happened and when you look at the time of the accident proximity to his house the fact his grandkid was there (who could have been in the garden) etc he was probably more angry at the risk that was posed to him and what could have been, more than anything.

Police and Fire service last night were astounded by the fact that no-one stopped to assist at the scene at the time it happened - people were driving on the pavement to bypass the flaming wreck!

We are a selfish lot.

If you read the comments I think this epitomises the ordinary motorists judgemental attitude towards sports cars.

Everyone here is up against that if/when any of us are unfortunate enough to have an accident.

What a sad sad end for two people.

And why do people writing the comments assume because it's a Porsche they must have been speeding.

It's not really surprising that people jump to conclusions

As performance car owners ourselves, we know about the spite and envy that such ownwership can provoke

Having said that, eyewitness accounts of a car being airborne before impact, the consequences of the accident and the road's reputation, would lead one to think that this was not a low speed incident

Tough break. They won't be making that mistake again.

It's this quote I like best:

'Insp John Fryer, of Notts Police, said: "The vehicle appears to have left the road and collided with a number of stationary vehicles. The occupants of the lone vehicle on the road died."'

Bet that took 30 years of detective school to figure that one out.

It does sound like a dangerous piece of road, regardless of wether they were speeding or not.

50mph is easily enough to DECIMATE a car and send it airborne.

Obviously with Mr Hunt's observation of 200mph Grand Prix cars outside his house, we can assume that airborne meant a few inches and not 37ft.

It really does seem this road warrants a GATSO or other speed enforcement. Shame that budget is tied up on camera's in Horse boxes on rural B roads.
