As the more aware of you probably know, Ford exercised its option to purchase the Rover brand.
It seemed that SAIC would adopt the pinyin Lu Wei, a literal translation.
No, they've gone for the pinyin Roe We.
Due to the dipthong, it is pronounced "Wrong Way".
Now, maybe a Chinese speaker could explain the logic; I suspect one is Cantonese, the other Mandarin. But that's a hunch.
