Default Shell Fill Up and Go App

Has anyone used this at a Shell station yet ?

I was a bit unsure about signing up and then driving off without using the cashier

I'm assuming the petrol station has to be "enabled"

Yep, used it on Sunday, works fine, did feel a bit odd driving off but got an email receipt straight away and also a receipt on the app

Yep - was a beta tester for this the other month. Once I figured out how to actually set it up with paypal and the Shell app, it worked fine. Did keep looking in the rear view mirror in case I was being chased for driving off. Would definitely use it in future, particularly if there is a queue at the till.

That sounds interesting, even if it's only to stop them cloning your card at the till

I have registered and I'm going to give this a go tonight. Most of the petrol stations round here have turned into supermarkets so any way to avoid the queue of people doing their weekly grocery shop has to be worthwhile.

Sounds like a nice idea in theory, but you know how these things end up with problems at launch. I fully expect to see a story on the DailyFail about a single mother on minimum wage who got charged for someone else's petrol and now she can't buy the latest Call of Duty for her 6 year old.

I would much rather they just put Pay at the Pump at every petrol station and stopped us having to queue up inside the mini M&S/Spa with people doing their weekly shopping.

Plus using your mobile phone at the petrol station is extremely dangerous and causes explosions.

Or so they've been telling us for years.

Sounds quite good. Now if only there was a Shell I could use.

It does mention a lot of times to use your phone inside the car
