Snow socks
I'm heading to Skye for NYE and the likelihood of having to drive through snow is pretty high. as anyone used those snow socks and are they any good? It's a 120d which is pretty poor in the snow.
Used them on my Prelude two years in a row, absolutely amazing product, albeit that was of course a FWD.
I climbed my iced up 1 in 4 driveway
that really made the neighbours stare!
Only snag as mentioned is that you must remove them when you get to slush/tarmac or they will disintegrate.

I used them 2 years ago on my BMW 3 series ... they are brilliant - but fiddly to get on an M Sport as you need to get your hands right round / over the wheel. There is a nack and once you have it fitting is OK. I used a piece of skirting board to hold the top in place due to the limited clearance between the top of the wheel and the wheelarch.
As to whether they work they certainly do !! They are excellent ... but once the snow goes the will wear through on tarmac - they will take some abuse ... they are quite rugged but intended for snow. Mine got a few holes in them after about 10 miles on a combination on compressed slush/tarmac.
I would recommend ... but went out and bought winter tyres as my 3 series in snow was a joke. The snow socks worked in about a foot of snow in darkest devon ... truly superb !

I rarely drive in the snow, or need to, so they sound like a better option to me than getting a full set of winters. Especially as I'm probably getting rid of the car in Feb.
