I just love the McLaren. The only chink in the armour of its styling is the Max Power rear spoiler - a pity it wasn't concealed to emphasise the shape between the rear lights.

It would have to be metallic orange or Lime green for me as black kills the shape IMHO.

Interesting to hear the paintwork was in such a sorry state given Ron's supposed OCD obsession with quality.

I think that's in the 'brake' position for cleaning. Lovely actuators.

It was covered in holograms, it seems a number of detailers have observed this on these cars. because of the complexity of the car and the variation in paint thickness across the panels it took me two days to polish it up.

And correct Nick, the rear spoiler was actuated for detailing. This involved fitting seatbealt, starting engine, pressing a number of buttons in sequence and then disarming the car.

Disarming the car?

That must be one hell of a chat-up line you used.

Yeah I noticed the extended actuators but it would still look better - IMHO - if the central spoiler bit wasn't there.

I can't give any detail for fear of being shot but there's a supercar hitting the streets soon which will have a large section of the rear body being employed as an air-brake and/or spoiler. The control surface is completely concealed within the shape of the body. One of my clients is supplying the actuators...

I have just seen some X-rays of bits of the new Continental R.
Not the quality you might expect in some places
