If that's all it takes to wind you up, it sounds like you have real anger issues!

Live and let live.

If I get a funny look from a top up convertible driver when I'm top down I just grin.

I have a sneaky feeling that a lot of people buy convertibles and then find they don't actually like them very much.

Be honest - the noise if you are on a crowded motorway is not great. Same problem on fast A roads if crowded.

I also think a lot of folks are hampered by all the crap they stuff in the boot of their car so they can't then get the roof down. (I'm thinking Audis and the like here).

Saw 5 Boxters on my Travels...... all with the roof up!!! Why????
1. Sunburn.
2. Maybe the people driving them were working and cant be assed to mess with hair.
3. To annoy you.

Why is it that s2k owners are so happy to pick on boxster owners, is it the mean age group who drive them? Who cares what Joe Bloggs is doing, live and let live.

Oh and BTW they are not bad cars despite your prejudices.

Mostly vacuous swankers with silly personalised number plates, who have never had a thought of their own.

Depends on what you describe as a 'bad' car

If you like your cars soulless then they are 'fine'

If you are happy driving around in a poverty Porsche they are 'fine'

They don't generate the right impression for me.

A 'bad car' IMO is one that doesnt handle, doesnt stop. Speed to me is relative as something that is fun with 50HP has as much kudos to me as something with 300HP. Never thought a Boxster is souless, true the original wasn't going to set land speed records but it is still interesting to drive IMO.

This whole 'poverty Porsche' thing is really a bit silly. Is a 430 a poverty Ferrari, a Gallardo a 'poverty lambo', Elise....etc, etc. It amazes me that anyone needs to justify their own self worth by running down another persons car? The Boxster is a great car to drive and yes it may have a bigger brother but car manufacturers have this thing called commonality. Although I am sure it would be better for them to go out of business making just one model so that sad sacks who cant have an original opinion can tell their mates down the Ferrit and Gherkin that they have THE car this month they dont, they make others.

Making others allows things to fliter down, which is good for drivers. Anyway, if you are that worried about the people at the chip shop queue/pub/people at work you need to speak to someone of a professional nature to sort out some esteem issues

What a pity to rule out certain cars just because of an impression.

^ Some good points.

Driving in heat last week, got caught in traffic around Leeds kept
putting top up leaving a six inch gap , looked silly but as soon as we moved on it was back down again.
My bald head can only take so much.

On our trip to Italy recently, we spent a lot of time with the roof up and ac on whilst on the autostrada. Outside temp was 36degC (phew)
