Steve was bloody close, but Mr Graves has just about hit the nail on the head.

It's an F 450 Super Duty with the Triton V10 unit.

I'm currently at lake Minnewanka, you can make your own jokes.

Right I'm back home now.

I made a bit of a mistake. I thought what I was driving was based around an F series, but it was actually an E 450 which might give you more of an idea of the vehicle type. Same engine as the F450 as the two platforms share a lot of components.

I'll post a pic up once I've put them onto the computer.

Ok, here is a picture of the beast.

It's a 30 foot RV. Sleeps 8 although it was just me and the missus using it. It had everything including the kitchen sink.
I think we did 2100 km in 10 days touring the Canadian Rockies and parts of BC.

It's the second time we've hired one of these, last time it was a 25 footer in Alaska.

I'd highly recommend it. If you're thinking of it then do it now before the price of fuel makes it unfeasible expensive.

Then again they could do the common sense thing and bung a diesel unit in them, but apparently diesel is only for trucks.

I did that exact same thing about 8/9 years ago. We hired one of the 25ft ones with the V10 - awesome machines and like you say, they really do have everything in them.

The Rockies and BC really are something to behold. Absolutely amazing. I'm assuming you visited Lake Louise, Morraine Lake, Jasper, Banff etc etc?

See any bears?

Couple of nights in Banff, then up the Icefields Parkway (Highway 93) via lake Louise to Jasper where we spent a few nights, did the hot springs etc. Then over to Wells Grey Provincial Park, followed by Mt Revelstoke/Glacier/Yoho National Parks. On our last day but one we did Morraine Lake, it wasn't open as we went past it on the way out. Certain places weren't possible due to the size of the van such as Mt Edith Cavell road etc.

Saw 6 bears, 1 grizzly and 5 black bears. We saw 3 coyotes, lots of elk, some long horned mountain goats, a few bald eagles and no doubt quite a few others.
Didn't see any moose at all, but we saw loads in Alaska last year.

I drove around the Canadian Rockies 2 years ago but I made do with a v8. Mustang. Loved it.

Correct on the SS. Loved every second of it. Here it is parked up behind the house we rented in the Venice Canals:

Aroudn LA, I got single figure mpg - largely because it got booted between lights. Driving to Vegas returned 28mpg - and that's 0.84 of a UK gallon so actually...better than the GF's C70 T5, but with nearly treble the capacity and double the power. Plus its enormous in the metal.

My favourite ford is the F650: ...pic says it all
