Sorry for the OT but I searched teh net but didn't find any solution for this
My 2001 Vito won't start anymore.
It gives me a "start error" message in the odometer display.
Obviously it has something to to with the immobiliser and it is a very common problem to many different Mercedes models.
But before I have to get it to the local dealer and have had the immobiliser and other stuff exchanged for nice $$$ I wanna check it myself.
There must be an easy solution for this.
It has done this some month ago already but back tehn I was able to reset this problem by leaving teh batterie off for 3 days.
but now, even after 1 week still the same!
So anyone with a Mercedes had this problem already?!
Thanks!

as you can see I posted ther ealready but I dont think it's my immobiliser as the car did this already before.
In a different forum they say it's the "electronic ring" around th elock wehre you pu tteh key which read's the key's data.
That's teh "cheapest solution so I guess I am going to try this first befor eI buy a $$$ immobiliser ecu
