Still in shock!
Doing around 65 in inside lane on dual carriageway..felt like a massive bang..someone knocked off my nearside mirror and sped off. Couldn't get his numberplate. Can't work out how it happened..other driver texting or under the influence? Mirror hanging off.Suspect will cost quite a bit to get it replaced. At the moment it's hanging down at side of car. This was in my Civic this afternoon. Only a mirror, but still a shock. Can't think it was deliberate. It would have required massive precision. The roads are getting crazy.
Similar happened to me 10 years ago. Well, it was my offside mirror and her offside mirror in a narrow lane with stopping places on my daily drive. She was on the school run = no stopping / take no prisoners. Not much has changed except I feel (imagine) that I drive more defensively and don't 'play chicken' any more. Not on that stretch in the M3, which is unsuited to jousting on narrow lanes
Everything happened so quick and it was one of those moments when I wasn't aware of anyone in rear mirror coming up quick on the outside.

Took the car to Honda Grantham Monday, they booked me in for yesterday, ordering a new mirror. Phone call yesterday saying the order was on backorder(?) and the mirror wouldn't be here til 9th April. After telling them I couldn't wait that long as driving the car was not only dangerous but illegal too, I believe,
they put in a "critical order".Got a message today the mirror would arrive 3rd April, which is still not good. Makes you realise how much you you use the offside mirror.
And yes, he/she did get close and potentially ...........Still can't fathom it out.
