Default streetcar

Been talkin g about this at work. A few of the guys use it and are raving about it.

http://www.streetcar.co.uk/

You book a car, walk up to it, zap your card at the window, get in, drive it off, fill up with petrol using their fuel card, drive around, park it up, walk away..

They then charge you for time + miles.

Looking at the map they are parked up throughout london and growing in the south - brighton/maidstone.

My colleague has one < 5 mins walk from his flat and uses it as and when on a weekend.

I support this. awesome if it works and expands. Look forward to it coming to TWells. Will probably flog our beater - only use it a few times a month as it is..

Sounds a great idea!!

So could I book the car, walk up and drive for an hour and just leave it there?

I worry about CHAVS getting wind of these cars and either driving it like the stole it or just smashing it up - cos no one will actually know

I saw a poster for this somewhere down in London and thought it was a brilliant idea.

Pretty much yes - though you have to join before hand so they know who you are.
If you want one in your area register interest on their website. They need locations to leave the car so if you have a spare parking space they will pay / rent (Im not sure) you to use it. More interest the quicker they will have a car issued.

Drive the car as if it's your own eh? I'm not sure they'll like that!
