Rather than spend your money doing a few laps in a supercar you may want to think about hiring one for the day! you should get something decent less than 500 quid and you will get about 100 miles for your money.

Good point kwakka but i did a rally day a while back and it was good fun. Exploring full chat on the road requires empty roads... Hmm

I did a racing tuition day at Thruxton, basically you drive a Lotus Exige S for an afternoon/morning and the racing driver teaches you how to drive properly. I think that was about £120 and quite useful.

I also did a experience day at Thruxton with a LP640, Porsche Cayman S, Mazda MPS and a Formula Renault, it was a great day and I took the LP640 up to 180mph along the back straight, but I learnt more by doing the tuition. The guys always seem very protective of the super cars where as they allow you to really explore the limits of the Lotus. So it depends what you want out of the day, to drive a super car or learn some driving skills!

Oh and I think the LP640 experience was about £160.

These prices were current this time last year.

I've also done Thruxton and would recommend. I've heard storys from people who have been to other tracks (cant remember which) that they weren't allowed to give it the beans at all but this certainly wasn't the case for me at least at Thruxton.

Seemed well run and I'd definately recommend a go in a Formula Renault too.

Not sure if they still are but I know Thruxton and Croft seemed to be the same company when I did my experience day 2 years ago. They shared promotional material and prices etc. Not sure where your located but could be a possibility.

its all good as long as you have the £5000 deposit needed before they will let you take it.
