Talking about rare cars
Loved the XJ220 every since sitting in the Le-mans one at a car show somewhere many years ago,
a friend of my parents has a V12 one as part of a very impressive Jaguar collection, must try and get a ride in it at some point.

I didn't think they made a V12
I believe they're, the XJ220, all V6 (as stated above based on the engine found in the Metro 6R4) with turbo(s)...
They did make a "similar" type car before for a posh single make championship called the XJR15, which, I believe, was V12. I think that there were only a few races and they were crash fests...
I saw one in the same red back end of last year coming through Chatsworth (the country house estate, not the 'Shameless' white city) and they are indeed very wide!
All production XJ220s are V6s but i read as well that the concept at the motorshow was a V12 but they scrapped that for production and a lot of customers who'd paid deposits didnt like the fact they had stuck a V6 in, abeit with a couple of turbos! Pretty big financial disaster for jag, think they ended up being stuck with quite a few that were then flogged off cheap
Plenty of info here...

but if you chop one in half, extend it by a couple of inches a Jaguar V12 (not 100% sure where from but maybe an XJR15) will fit.

The production version of the car was first shown to the public in October 1991 after undergoing significant changes. The most obvious of which was a completely different drive train and the elimination of the scissor doors. TWR was charged with producing the car .

( and apparently too busy drooling to quote the right person the first time!)
