Default Thinking of a 350z convertible

Well I've been toying with the idea for quite a while since my car is getting old, I'd get another s2000 but i fancy a change.

I've been toying with the idea of this car, question is does a Nismo 350Z actually exist I'm interested in the performance increase if any.

I test drove an earlier 350Z (roadster) a few years back admitably the older model but i wasnt blown away by the performance/drive, I've now learnt over the last couple of years they have received a powerhike, the one I drove a bit ago was nippier for sure (roadster) .

I'm currently looking at this esp since its Nismo thus tuned?, but could it be an import and some nip has just stuck Nismo badges on it ?

Liking the fact its a convertible, TBH MPG has knocked me off but but I'll accept it.

What do you think?

Not for me.

And because it's a convertible version of a coupe, liable to a bit of scuttle/flex.

I think the next car for me would be the 370Z in coupe form, but that won't be for a couple of years until they come down from daft new money

There was an official Nismo tweaked coupe - which had all manner of Nismo goodies - bespoke suspension, engine mods, etc. That car isn't it as they never made a Nismo sanctioned conv. That maybe has a few aftermarket Nismo mods.

350Z's are SO different to an S. S is a sports car, 350Z is a GT - a good one at that but make sure you have a decent test drive as they are very different.

Scuttle shake is a problem - it will be a dogs dinner on those 20" wheels - leave well alone if I was you!

Not sure it's a good choice AJ!

Bit of a backwards step in terms of pure driving experience.

Thanks chaps I liked the roadster version but I've been on my parkers etc and the convetible although had more trq and bhp is slower than the roadster and my s!? - I want something faster not slower lol, I'm willing to bet if I kept my s on the boil it would be more for the 350 convertible.

Thanks for the heads up on nismo variants.

I want a convertible I guess the only thing in my price range and what tickles my fancies is a vx220 turbo, the na is too slow.

Turbo = tuning

£4.5k would be a world record!

I'd just buy a newer S.

I dont really want another S, but perhaps bolt on a supercharger though!!!

The only things that concerns me is longetivity if i bought a newer S and bolted a supercharger on, plus the MPG will be poor? 20MPG average?

Reliability will be fine if you don't go for silly power, and mpg will be the same under VTEC. Obviously will use more when the blower is spinning but hey ho

Insurance will be more though.

Go for a low mileage 02 car for about 7-8k and a bit left for mods.
