Default Thinking about going back to a Lotus

Well I'm on holiday in South West France at the moment, and to be honest the S2000 has left me somewhat underwhelmed. We bought the S2000 as a replacement for an S2 Exige because we decided a convertible would be great for foreign touring holidays, but I'm now thinking about going back to an S2 Exige, most likely an S (supercharged) one. We have a trip to the Alps planned in July, so I suppose I could keep the S until then and give it another chance to shine a bit more on the Alpine roads, but I'm not sure. Maybe it's got something to do with the fact I have had bronchitis for three weeks, have now got the shits, and generally feel pretty grim at the moment (fecking typical, was really looking forward to this holiday too) but every single turn of the steering wheel in the Exige was fun!!!

You know you can get a conversion kit to fit a conventional Elise removeable soft-top in place of the Exige's roof panel, right?

When winter comes - just switch back over for no (ok, less) leaks.

Exige S with one of those would seem to be a good compromise.

There is a ram intake on the Exige S's roof, but I understand there may be a 'fix' for that.

Much as I like the S, if you'd prefer it prefixed with "Exige" then go do it. It's hardly a crap alternative!

Many Exige owners take the roof off.

Had a lengthy chat with the sales rep at Lotus last week.

I did take the roof off our Exige a couple of times in Scotland last year. It looks shite with the roof off IMHO (totally spoils the flowing lines), but I suppose you don't care about that when you're driving it.

What Lotus you thinking about Scott? If I do change back I'll be looking at a S/H Exige S 220 around the £25K mark.

The Exige S or I go balls out and get the Evora.
But a 911, XKR or an M car is on the cards too.

Not sure i'd choose an Exige S as a tourer!

It's noisy and cramped.

But the best car i;ve owned

Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooring.

Get an Evora FFS and do yerself a favour.

But I can see the practicality of the XKR, if you need a four-seater hatchback.

I expect an Evora would be perfect for my needs. Unfortunately my means do not stretch to one.
