Today I bought...
I used to chuckle every time it went past. One day soon, such a stupid car will be cheap enough to make a sort of perverse sense...
Actually Mark,
I'd be interested in your thoughts on:
N-ONE
I believe it's fickle Japan's best-selling car ATM.

Very retro' and more than hint of the original N600! As an aside, many years ago (1974?) my cousin bought a new N600 shortly after he was married, and I really liked it... until his dad/my uncle bought a then new first generation 3 door Honda Civic. That's when we all realised that Honda were pretty special.
I can see the appeal of the N-ONE; cute, loads of wacky colours, well equipped, practical for city use. The only downside for me is the size of the wheels in relation to the sheet metal, especially at the rear. It reminds me of on of those Kia/Perodua things.
My guess is it would look much better as three door, but that would undermine its usefulness for many.
The interior looks great.
I suspect if it could be priced correctly it could be a great success in the UK and the EU markets; I'll have the Modulo one in white with red roof please.
I have only seen one in the flesh, at a show in Scotland; it was silver with red interior and it looked a beautiful place in which to sit.
I wonder how many were actually 'sold'...

I don't think they're really set up for being thrashed along B-roads like our A-segments are, but I can really see the appeal. The Deep Purple interior option suggests it could be a real Highway Star, though.

Apparently it was a "lifestyle" product pitched as a "cheap" way to do you shopping and city running around with out getting dings and dents on your garage queen Aston.
The dealer that supplied my V8VS sold two Cygnets to a DBS owner, his & hers apparently

There is some data on AMOC on numbers sold, its not massive, bizarrely they struggled to sell new, but are holding value used (go figure!)
Dunno how true this is but I heard that Aston signed on the dotted line on a load of these to get their CO2 average down. They submitted the numbers and were told they sold too few cars in total for it to be a consideration and didn't apply to them. Part of me really hopes it was true
Wasn't the biggest selling car as the iQ but a lot of it was never meant to be a big selling car either. A lot of it was commercial test bed for small lightweight systems to be used on higher volume sales on future models. The internet I'm on at work at the moment is sh!t so not going to go looking for it but it was something along the lines of an unusual transmission layout and aircon system being the quoted examples
