my oldest is only 15....i bought it as mrs SC is taking her driving test next week...so i sat on the roof of my house and thought, a cheap ecobox would be the best till she gets some driving experience.

Odd - I was driving a Yaris Hybrid last week and was quite amazed that I had such a good driving position in such a small car. I've not tried a GK Jizz, but way superior to the GG.
Being a Toyota, the seats were a bit too flat, the only way of eliminating the understeer was to trip it up with a mid-corner lift and the lack of any mechanical link between throttle pedal/crankshaft/driveshafts meant it was about as boring to drive as a Playstation.
But the mass of a cadaver under the back seat meant it was very well-balanced and had an excellent ride.Only the terrible wind noise around the otherwise quite unobtrusive A-pillars was a solecism.
Anyway, the main point of these ramblings is that it made me even more aware that now that truly modern B-segments are so good (for non-petrolheads, anyway) that it really makes one question the requirement to pay much more for a car.
It also makes one question why Corsas (even back to the first, with its almost centrally-mounted steering column & dash) have had such a shit driving position? I know many German cars do, but since the Corsa's really a Punto, you'd have thought they could've eliminated the 3er Reich torture-chamber and Italian Ape features between them...
