Default Tom Tom One

My 1st Tom Tom One went back to Comet and in turn they sent it back to Tom Tom who replaced it under warrentee / garrauntee (sp really bad I know) which I have now used twice.

Yesterday it went caput. It won't update the screen with the visual directions or distances etc etc at all, whilst the verbal aural instructions are fine.

I am going into Comet tomorrow to discuss this matter however I am sure they will say that it needs to go to Tom Tom (for the second time). Can't I just make them replace it under the Trades Descriptions Act there and then rather than waiting for 3 weeks AGAIN?

Actually I thought that there was no difference between the one and the 310 etc. unless you want to use it as a hands free?

I think you've had a bad experience, Kelk - my TTOne is fab. Could be worth upgrading the firmware to the latest revision to see if that fixes the problem?

I had to lend my Road Angel Navigator to a friend the other day as their Tom Tom also died, Road Angel was faultless again. Looks like they have sorted their problems out now.

Cheers Alex, I just downloaded the Tom Tom home stuff and did a firmware upgrade and walking up the street, like a nonce admittedly, seems to have fixed it. We will see......

Certainly the PDA version of TT5 (which I believe the selfcontained units are based on) freezes intermittently - firmware upgrade fixed that too.

Was a bit annoying the first time it happened - never realised for about 20 miles and I was somewhere in the Highlands

My TT1 has been excellent - not disappointed at all.
