Default Top 10 Driving Roads

A press release from MINI (all capitals! The fools!) has landed on my desk.

Apparently, MINI UK polled "hundreds of UK motorists to discover the top ten stretches of autumn asphalt (dear God!), with MINI Convertible drivers particularly in mind". So, bits of road where body flex and woeful performance won't show up then... (And yes, before anyone accuses me of S2000 Superiority Complex, I HAVE driven a Mini Convertible and it was shit.)

So, here are the 10 roads voted

Anyone want to back up/slag off this top ten, or suggest roads of their own?
The A54 from Congleton to Buxton - a really nice hilly and bendy route that takes you up into the Peaks and across the moors. You can then either hang a left and head back down the A537 Cat and Fiddle towards Macclesfied or take a right to Buxton and then head out of town on the (I think) A5004 to Whaley Bridge, along the scenic Goyt Valley.

I did this run in the 911 for the first time on Saturday and was lucky enough to pick a time when there was precious little traffic. A great run out

Don't tell anyone.

"Dear Mr policeman, this is where I like to go and drive fast - so if you want to catch me that's where I'll be "

Without traffic, the Downs road from Streatley to Wantage is great fun.

We prefer to think of it as a "special stage"
