Towing advice
Just picked up this thread.
A few questions:
How heavy is the trailer and boat?
How heavy/wide is the towing vehicle?
One or double axle trailer?
How wide/long is the trailer?
Towing isn't rocket science.
Remember that you steer by reference to the trailer axles, not the rear axle of the towing vehicle.
Tow is most stable when you are holding a constant throttle/speed i.e. a gentle pull.
Braking needs more time and smoothness is the key.
Acceleration likewise smoothness is the key.
Cornering - most important to get your braking done before the corner so you are on a constant throttle/speed through the corner.
Forward observation coupled with smoothness is the key.
Reversing isn't as difficult as it sounds: the tip about a deserted supermarket car park and a few cones is
Even easier if you have a rear facing camera!
