The yanks plaster the front with the Blue low tack masking tape
Some take it a bit far though

Black Duck tape on the nose, though your own tyres can chuck up
some nasty stones.

Yeah its quite thick, I plastered my Elise with it prior to my last Don
Palmer day at Bruntingthorpe gravel field and im very fussy about
my car.

As mentioned, your own car throws up stuff which tends to mark the lower areas by the door openings.

I'd just use some sort of tape. I bet Demon Tweeks has some.

I just budgeted for a respray before I sell.

I'm not going to faff about putting tape on and off the car at every trackday and that clear film looks awful on every car I've seen it after a short amount of time, plus having it applied costs about the same as haivng a respray of the front clam.
