Default Traffic Cops on Watch HD

Just watching this and they stopped a guy in an Audi TT for doing 116 in a 70. Took them 10 mins to catch up with him and he was also doing 60 through a 30.

When they stop him it turns out it wasn't his car, he works for an Audi garage and the car had just been in for a service and he was delivering it back to the customer.

They gave him a summons as they said he was too far above the threshold to deal with by way of a fixed penalty.

This probably goes on far more than we want to think about with our cars :fighting:

P.S. Interestingly when they were sitting in a lay-by clocking the speed of cars the cop said they're never really interested in folk doing 5, 10, 15 mph above the speed limit (it was a 70 mph zone). He said it was the folk doing a good bit more than that which they class as dangerous.

I probably drive my cars harder than any mechanic would.
So it doesnt worry me at all.

The issue is more with annoying others, especially in an unusual car with memorable plates.

No it isn't ... traffic cops are usually far more generous with speeders than you would ever imagine

Well, at least in Cheshire anyway.

Not so in North Wales.

I suspect how you drive when speeding will effect how the Police treat you, but no doubt there is an "upper limit" to their tolerance.

depends what hamfisted spanner monkey you get working on your car. they'd probably downshift at the wrong time, or do it from cold. (atleast hondas disable vtec until it's warm - there is a saviour )

Do 85 on an open road and they are noramlly not even interested.
Do 75 and tailgate the guy in front and they will be.

20, 30, 40, and 50's are there to be obeyed. National Speed limits can normally be treated a little more as a guide.

And you didn't hear that from me. lol.
