Default Trikes

I am seeing an increasing number of these ridiculous looking things on the road.

I don't get them.

They remove the greatest joys of motorcycling; leaning into corners and manoueverobility. And they retain the worst attributes of motorcycling; exposure to the elements and vulnerability in an accident.

I wonder if they're a manifestation of the ageing bikers' health issues - specifically the inner ear and associated balance problems?

Possibly they think they look cool ..... they are different if nothing else, much like your Insight. Next time you see one, ask the rider why they bought it

I agree - worst of both worlds. But having said that, buying a car with only 2 seats, little luggage space, and a roof that comes down in a country where it rains all the time doesn't make a lot of sense either.

I understood that a lot of them are ridden by ex-bikers who have lost limbs or become otherwise unable to ride on two wheels due to accidents - would at least give you the exposure to the elements, sitting atop something, handlebar control, noise experience of riding a bike.

Also helpful if you are a certified "cage" hater.

You've clearly not heard of Harley-Davidsons!

It's often biking injuries, also that you can take the whole family with you like a combination but roomier, the build-it-yourself thing as well as a general FTW-attitude to all the Mr. Uptights in their f uckin Audis and equivalent prat-boxes.

The rat-look is very fashionable at present, which is a shame because there used to be some fantastic artwork in the past. That's equally true of the rodding scene.

Of course, trikes offend my engineering aesthetic is a way the Grinnall Scorpion doesn't.

I'm meaning the scooter like ones - not proper 3 wheel things ... Piaggio I think they are.

I had one a bit like this one. I could really tank along on it and riding on two wheels was fun too. Parked it up one night behind the old man's car and he reversed into it the next morning. Write off ...
