I bet if the engine goes pop it will be around 3-4k for one.
The Mark 2 Tuscans (get the S; don't piss about with the economy version) drive very well indeed (slightly wobbly frame aside) and are apparently a lot better handlers than the MK1.
It's the only car I've driven which I would say feels a genuine step up from, yet very similar to, the S2000. It's also the only car I've driven that counts as fast. Except in the wet...
An NSX makes more sense but is a differnent prospect entirely; too practical, almost. So if you can live with the potential fragility and the slight whiff of polyester and glue, it's the car to have.
I'm not entirely sure I could live with the fragility, so a supercharged S would neatly square the circle.

Money pit AJ...
List your requirements and we shall find you a new car
RE the S getting soo old, it's surely going to be a similar age to any Tuscan? Do you just fancy a change?
If you have a runabout then it makes the second car open to more extreme options

Nick, the mark 2 Tuscan is this the 4.0 litres one?, how do i know its a mark 2?
I've been in a tuscan S (my uncles) and it was a flying machine ( was actually too fast), but i cant afford that version. Long story short but ended up doing a 360 turn in it one day a few years back, i think he said something about wheel base i cant remember.
I also had a quick go in a tamora too and liked that again out of my price range.
They were my uncles but he died so i cant really ask him.

I like the S dont get me wrong just its getting a bit old and I'm wanting more power, in a nutshell its the power i want.
I guess a supercharged S could be an idea, only when the engine goe's pop. I just think allsorts of other things will need upgraded to cope.
Mark, money pit seems to sum it up really i dont mind spending a wee bit but if its going to need x,y and z replaced.
Re: Car i want , something fast, not too many on the road and reliable, with a boot around 18k
I'm not a BMW fan either
