Default Type R Powered Elise

My Brother is getting one of the conversions for his S1 and he has beeen quoted power figures of 225bhp when fitted to the Elise.

I am not really that technical, but from reading on here it is very difficult and extremely expensive to gain a few bhp from the S2000.

Can they really with a re map, manifold, ecu, breathing etc etc gain an extra 25ish bhp from a CTR engine?

My thoughts are if that was the case wouldn't Honda have put it in the S2000?

Well utilised in the Ariel Atom is that.
The top output is from the Supercharged version at c.300bhp

Saw this car at the MPH show on Saturday. Looked awesome. Sorry, no wisdom on how they get 225bhp though. There is a distinct lack of room in the engine bay of an elise so no idea where they squeezed the extra power from

It would seem they are claiming the extra 25 or so from what would appear to me to be mild tuning that in terms of the S2000 would only produce a mere zero extra bhp!

(According to what I have read!)

The JDM K20a engine fitted in the JDM EP3 and DC5 outputs at 220bhp.

The K20a is also very tweakable.

DC5 guys are getting 245-250 bhp from breathing and mapping!

Wouldn't fit in the S2000 because it's transverse. It's also alot heavier than the F20c.

225bhp is easily achievable and is plenty for an Elise

I thought it was the other way round with the K20a being lighter?
