Default VTEC MG

Not sure if this has been posted on here in the past? (Couldn't see anything listed in a search of this forum.)
Anyway spent an hour or so going through the poster's trial and tribulations of getting his EP3 Type R engined MG-TF on the road. Well worth a read.

Cool!

I bet that will go like stink when it is done, but after reading all that I feel for the guy, what a horrendous conversion to first person did! Those engine mounts made me LOL!

Can't wait to see it finished...

It'll be quick, but he's probably looking at 215bhp after it's tuned. No way that manifold is optimised for power.

Not taking anything away from it mind, guy has done everything well and he'll certainly have a unique car

Someone needs to tell him that K-Pro doesn't work on an F20C though.

Oh whoops, K-Pro is Hondata, my bad. But it is a pain in the ass to get it working, its a bit of a bodge AFAIK as you have to change sensors and wiring. AEM is better...(and cheaper)

It will if you bodge it and start fitting K20 sensors to the F20C, but it won't just 'work'

The F20C and K20A are similar only in that they are 2.0 litre 16v DOHC VTEC Honda engines.

Everything else is different.

But it's a K20A that's in the car. So it should run fine, think it drove when he originally bought it? It was just a death trap.

As much as I admire someone who can do something like this to a car, I don't understand why he didn't just get a standard car, and start the project afresh, instead of trying to sort out someone else's mess.
