There are plenty of dealers out there willing and able to give you top service now their jobs are on the line Burnie.
Then there are obviously some who still don't quite get that the market has changed and that they can't treat customers like that anymore.

Go and visit another one or two dealers and give them the story above, they'll bend over backwards to help you out.

It's a buyers market.

i always foudn VW dealers awful... they just dont care abotu selling cars - i once wanted a new golf with an auto box - and tehy said ' we just dont do those ' the only way i could get you one to drive - is if you 'agree' to buy one - give us a deposit - this if you dont like it im sure there is ' something ' we would be able to do about it!!!

oh and also 3 years ago when buying a new bora... they agreed over the phone for a 5k trade with an old car.. then this suddenly droped to ' 2k ' as when they checked the condition i was told it was ' nto as described over the phone ' lol i was SSOOOO angry though as they had spend 3 hours odd wasting our time in the showroom - sorting spec - budget - price etc only to be told when we were abuot to sign of the ' best offer ' told them to shove it and ended up selling it privatly for 7k then buying a bora private for 3k cheaper so always works out in the end

Had exactly the same both private, trade and now with my company VW barge Bernie.

Local is Irvines in Bridgwater.
I popped in for the first time a year ago looking for info on the VW ipod adapter and some longlife oil.
They had no idea how to work the adapter and made it very clear they were not interested.
They told me the oil was VERY SPECIAL and VW had stopped making it.
It is very difficult to obtain now, and pulled out a dusty 1Ltr bottle from the stockroom.
Cost something like half a kidney...
"When that runs out thats it", he said.
So, I replied "How are you going to service the car?"
Silence.
Twat.

Then asked if i could book a service on the GE lease car.
"Urm, we don't get involved with GE servicing".

I now know WHY GE wont deal with THEM

A sweeping generalisation, I had many repeat customers and did my best to help at any time, after all without them I didn't make a lot of wages.

Soz mate but you are speaking out of your arse, i was a car salesman for for ten years, yes that could apply to some but not all!! I worked for Honda and BMW and product knowledge was paramount, and having mystery shops every other weeks meant you had to no your stuff.
