Default VW Urban Fox Problems.

A lady friend of mine has a VW Urban Fox and is having a major problem with condensation on the inside of the front screen and today it was also frozen.

Does anyone on the forum have a family member or friend with this model ? if yes, do they get the same problem ?

Geoff.

Trouble with that is that as soon as the a/c is switched off, the moisture returns.

Try driving around with windows ajar and heater on full blast for an hour or so, especially on a nice non-humid day like today.

If that won't work, there will be some sort of problem with drainage somewhere.

Does the owner park the car under trees? Is the heater intake or underbonnet area full of wet leaves? How old is the car? Is it due a change of pollen filter? Are the carpets wet/damp?

WTF? It's like, January?

Both 'outdoor' Hondas have been like hammams for a month now!

Is she running the fan/heating on recycle.? My mother was doing this until I showed her which way to turn the fan control, the windows are usually clearer now.

My sister has a VW Fox, she doesn''t have the same problem, check for any leaks inside the cabin.

Hot air.

Tell her to try driving alone.

In this cold weather it's tempting to drive with the heater at max. When you get home after a reasonably long journey and the car has heated up, the warm air inside the car will cool and contract, drawing in air from outside. This will probably be moist air and will contribute to the condensation.

I try to equalise the temperature inside and out before I park up. Either hold the door open for a bit before you get out or run the last few hundred yards with a window open.
